Helen Diaz
In 1976, Ms. Diaz joined Dinor Enterprises, a family owned construction firm, speculative builders of office, industrial, multi-family and residential properties. First as a translator and handling office duties. Later promoted to Property Negotiator for land aquisitions in 1980, when she obtained her real estate license. Her duties were expanded to include feasibility studies and Sub-Contractor negotiations. In 1983, Ms. Diaz was named vice president and earned 50% stock.
That same year she joined Merrill Lynch Realty, in Coral Gables, as a Broker-Associate. Within two years she was later named Training Director for Miami-Dade County.
Folkard and Hayward, Sotheby's biggest competitor in London, had opened a full service real estate office in Coconut Grove. In 1987, Folkard and Hayward asked Ms. Diaz to join them as vice president. She was responsible for recruiting seven new associates and tripling gross sales within four months.
Once her Certified General Contractor father retired in 1988, she resigned from Dinor Enterprises, and later from Folkard and Hayward as well. She then formed Milazzo International, with the purpose of specializing in Appraisal related services.
In 1999, she was appointment by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Commissions to the City of South Miami CRA Advisory Board as a Foundation Member and voted vice chairperson by her peers. A post she held for two years before resigning, due to rapid growth of her company, Milazzo International.
Ms. Diaz is a Miami native and has resided in South Miami since 1984. Her fine show horses and AKC Registered white German Shepherds Dogs are her passion.
